It's Marc Jacob's getting fired over grunge and Kate Moss making an evening dress all the better. It's Alexa Chung in denim dungarees, circa Alex Turner, and covering her skinny legs on the streets of Williamsburg years later. Its public school girls in knee highs on the Kings Road, and Kate Moss at Glastonbury, defeating the purpose in non existent denim undergarments.
When sporadic showers and temperamental temperatures threaten the donning of denim cut offs and floral minis, come the summer months, (read highs of 13 degrees), the parka comes to the rescue in its khaki coloured, fur hooded, simplicity, its boyish body covering ability, its nostalgic practicality, its continuous refusal of sartorial disturbance, in this unfailingly miserable British climate.
